Better Bonnet?

We took Luci to church on Sunday morning and she made her big debut. However, she slept the whole time and the nursery ladies didn't even take her out of her car seat. I was so disappointed that she didn't get to show off her cute outfit! But she did better with this little bonnet.
I put the same outfit on her the next day when we went to see Gran Dow.
Typical girl..... You can see she doesn't like wearing the same thing twice! 

Super Bowl

We had a great time on Sunday for the Super Bowl! We had some friends over and Jay made a Gumbo that was out of this world. He has been making gumbo for about a year now and I think he has perfected it. (Thanks to Calvert for the recipe and all the tips!) Luci spent most of the Super Bowl like this-snuggled up with her blanket. My Aunt Nell made this blanket for her and she seems to love it!! And it is big enough for me to snuggle with her under it too! 

Girl Power

Luci does most of her sleeping during the day! She is doing pretty good at night-sometimes she will sleep five hours at a time, but it is never the same time each night-which drives me crazy because I am a planner and like to know what is going to happen and at what time to expect it!



I just know she is saying "Girl power" in this picture- especially since she rules the roost and has all the men (big and little) at my house under her spell!

Fruit basket turnover

Cooper climbed in bed with John William the other night and fell asleep. I just had to snap this picture for later in life when they want to kill eachother. Jay was thrilled about this co-sleeping as he would have us all sleeping in one bed if he could. Of course, John William fell out of the bed later that night!
And this was Cooper one afternoon with his Blue Baby (somehow) tucked under his pappy, that is in his mouth.

No bonnet for me!

I took Luci to the pediatrician for her two week checkup. I was so excited to get her dressed up. It did not last long though...she tried to eat the bonnet and when she figured out it was not food, she cried until I took it off her head! That is not a good sign for all my smocked dress dreams!! She weighs 7 lbs. 12 oz. and checked out with a clean bill of health!

This is her second bath! She's doing a little better!
After five minutes...
And at six minutes...six and a half, it was over! 

Luci had her first real bath!
This is how she spent most of her five minutes in the tub.
And Cooper thought it was so funny that she was so loud!!
Still all stressed out!

She has found her voice-she can wail!!!!

Luci was born Monday morning at the speed of light!!!! We went in and they broke my water at 8:20 a.m. and she was here by 9:51 a.m.-I barely got my epidural!!! But it was great and she is beautiful!!
This is my grandmother for whom we named Luci. She is 93 and still going strong!

We brought her home from the hospital today and Jay's mother Judy made her this beautiful smocked dress for her big trip home!!!
